LOGGING ON

What do I do if I have forgotten my username or password?

Your username is your firstname and lastname e.g. johntaylor. Initially, your password is set the same as your username, and the first time you sign on, you will be prompted to change your password.

 

If you have already signed on and changed your password and forgotten it, click *help next to the Login button. Type the email address that is in your member info page. Your login information will be sent to you within a few minutes.

 

If you still have a problem, email webmasters@norsemanskiclub.com, and include the specific details of your problem.

 

How do I sign in with another username on the same computer?

If you’ve clicked the “remember me” box, the login area shows the username and password (using dots) of the last user, even though you have logged off.

 

However, if you share the computer, with another NSC member, you must first delete BOTH the username and the password before typing in the other member’s login information.

MEMBER INFORMATION

How do I update my address, phone number, email address and other member data?

1.     Sign on to your account.

2.     In the My Account section, click on View/Edit Your Info.

3.     Update your personal information.

4.     Click the Submit button at the bottom of the screen when done.

I’ve updated my member information so why does the member list still show the old information?

The member list is generated manually by the webmasters about once a month or so (this system does not have the option to generate a printed list on demand from the member database). The most recent member information (for you or another member) is displayed when you choose the Member Search option.

EVENTS AND EVENT REGISTRATION

How do I get more information about an event?

1.     Just click on any event on the Calendar and the full details of the event appear.

2.     Please read the information carefully. The registration for some events is not done on the website, but by telephone.

How do I use the Filter on the Calendar page?

The Filter option displays only a selected event type:

1.     On the event calendar page, click the arrow to the right of the Filter selection box (just above the top line of the calendar) to see the dropdown list.

2.     Select the type of event that you want to view: Backcountry Day, Backcountry, Overnight, etc.

3.     The calendar displays only that type of event, even if you change the month.

4.     To view all the events, click the arrow again and select *ALL*.

NOTE:   The event type selected will remain, even if you logout and login again, and even under a different username.

Why do I have to confirm my username and password when I register for an event?

For households with more than one NSC member, this confirms which member is logged on. At this point, the other member may enter his or her information and register for the same event. Remember that to change usernames, you must first delete BOTH the username and password that appears on the screen.

 

How do I change my registration information after I’ve registered?

After you have registered for an event, you can add/remove guests, change the location where you will meet (carpool vs event location):

1.     In the Events Section, click on My Upcoming Events.

2.     For the event that you want to change:

 

Add  or remove guests

In the Guests column, click on Change

 

Edit details of the event

In the Edit column, click Edit

 

Delete your registration

In the Delete column, click Delete; you will be asked for confirmation

 

Change emergency contact info

The information as entered in the View/Edit Your info page. This is the backup information. When you sign in at the start of the trip, you must provide your emergency contact info for that day.
