Seventeen intrepid Norseman set out in KCountry on Day 1 of 3 in temperatures below -10. Blue skies dominated and made for great photo ops in the winter wonderland. One group enjoyed the trails out of Peter Lougheed Discovery Park Centre whilst the other group skied out of Mt. Kidd Campground towards Wedge Ponds. After checking in we found a perfect alcove on the second floor to host our Happy Hour. It looked welcoming and festive with extra chairs borrowed from various rooms.Delicious snacks and warm camaraderie provided a delightful closure to our day. Day 2 presented with overcast skies and warmer temps. This led to the excellent conditions with lots of powder for the various groups. Another Happy Hour and then dinner at Woody’s Pub completed another fine day. Day 3 proved challenging as blowing snow made for minimal visibility. Decisions had to be made to forego the skiing. A small group completed some skiing at Mt. Kidd Campground before heading home. We all breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing our home driveways even if it meant some serious shovelling! Thanks to all the participants for their flexibility and fun attitudes!
