I am Kelly Adams, a new member with the Norseman Ski Club. I joined 28 or so other skiers at Lake Louise on Feb 1-3, staying at the Lake Louise Inn. I was lucky enough to bunk in with two of the trip coordinators and we hosted a fun Happy Hour at our abode on Saturday night. I skied a Fairview loop lead by Larry Fisher including a side trip to see the Lake Louise ice sculptures on Friday and on Saturday we skied up the Yoho Valley Road, led by Eric Lloyd. Both trips were really fun with good snow and great company. Others did trips to the Pipestone, other variations of the Fairview loop, the Bow River loop and the Great Divide Trail. We had a group dinner at the Railway on Friday night which was lots of fun and a great opportunity to meet everyone. The weather in Lake Louise was pretty balmy compared to Calgary on Friday and Saturday, but the Polar Vortex caught up to us by Saturday evening and it was a frosty -27 on Sunday morning. I didn't ski, but 6 hardy people braved the cold in true Norseman style for just under an hour. It was a great weekend, very well organized by our coordinators, Deb Kocay, Deb Dobson and Wendy Yurka. I met lots of great new people who made me feel very welcome as a new member.
